Industries We Serve

Utilities and Infrastructure

Water management is crucial for commercial, municipal, and private development alike. Kolb Grading delivers the civil construction that utility and infrastructure projects depend on, from water pipelines and pump stations to bridges, tunnels, and HDPE systems, backed by rigorous safety standards and disciplined schedules across the country.

Overview

Deep experience building for utilities and infrastructure

Kolb Grading brings deep civil construction expertise to water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects: installing water pipelines, cast-in-place structures, pump stations, and HDPE systems for utility companies, municipalities, and private owners. We build and maintain the reliable infrastructure that communities and industries depend on, safely and on schedule.

How we work

From first survey to a system in service.

One team handles the work from first survey to a tested system ready for service.

01

Assessment & Survey: we evaluate site conditions, existing utilities, and specs to plan the work and manage risk before excavation begins.

02

Excavation & Shoring: crews open and shore deep, often wet trenches, dewatering and protecting existing utilities as they go.

03

Installation & Fusion: pipelines, structures, and pump stations go in, with HDPE joints fused and pressure-tested to spec.

04

Backfill & Restoration: trenches are backfilled and compacted, the system is tested, and the site is restored to final grade.

Problems we solve

Where utility and infrastructure work gets hard

01

Deep, wet excavation

Pump stations and pipelines often mean deep, saturated trenches. We plan dewatering, shoring, and safe access so crews stay productive and on schedule.

02

Existing utility conflicts

Live water, power, and gas lines cross most corridors. We locate, protect, and coordinate around them to avoid strikes and costly delays.

03

Permitting & compliance

Public infrastructure carries strict environmental and regulatory demands. We manage permits, inspections, and documentation so the work stays compliant.

04

Coordination across trades

Utility builds pull together many trades and owners. Kolb self-performs the core scope and coordinates the rest to keep the schedule intact.

Safety

Safety is a culture, not a number.

For us, safety is more than an EMR figure. It’s how every crew shows up, every day. From daily planning and hazard analysis to ongoing crew training, we build safety into the work so our people go home safe and your project stays on track.

Daily hazard analysis

Every crew plans the work and the risks before it starts.

Ongoing safety training

Continuous training keeps our people sharp and certified.

Documented compliance

Full reporting and inspection coordination on every job.
